Steve Hackett playing the excellent guitar solo in Firth of Fifth. Supported by a killer ensemble of John Wetton, Ian McDonald, Julian Colbeck and the amazing Chester Thompson on drums! Recorded at Koseinenkin hall, Tokyo
on 16th 17th December 1996.
Jon Lord's Concerto for Group and Orchestra performed by Deep Purple and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Malcolm Arnold on Sept. 24, 1969. Here's Blackmore's great guitar solo from the first movement.
Ritchie Blackmore -- guitar/bass
Ronnie James Dio -- vocals
David Stone -- keyboard
Bob Daisley -- bass
Cozy Powell -- drums
Nice clip of the band playing along to this song. Dio's vocals sound live (?) but I think the rest of the band is just miming.
Fantastic line-up that we'll never see again unfortunately; rest in peace Cozy.
Steve Morse plays Contact Lost and the Well Dressed Guitar June 19, 2005 at the Corel Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. This clip really takes off at the 5'13" mark. It was a great show! Recorded by me.
The track "Ghost Dance" from Nik Turner's excellent 1994 live album "Space Ritual". Pounding drums and spacey rock - very cool stuff, enjoy. Starts slowly, give at least until the first minute. Note that the DVD of this concert is missing this track. For those that may not know who Nik Turner is, read up on the band Hawkwind.
